Berlin based literary journal, The Wild World, has published my poems, "Narcissus" and "Gardenias," in What the Heart Sees (The Wild Word, Issue # 25). Thank you to the poetry editors for selecting two of my "white flower poems," and special thanks to lead editor, Kusi Okamura, for her stewardship over this beautiful journal. As an added note, I am especially grateful to have had these two poems published in Berlin, the city which my father called home. https://thewildword.com/poetry-gabrielle-langley/
INTERVIEW by Cindy Huyser:
Thank you to Cindy Huyser for interviewing the editors of Red Sky: poetry on the global epidemic of violence against women. Looking forward to our reading at Book Woman in Austin, TX this Thursday evening!
SHAMELESS BRAG! MASSIVE PRIDE!!!
I am deeply honored to have been named The Featured Poet for Houston Poetry Fest 2017. Warmest thanks to their amazing coordinators, and especially to their esteemed jury of poets and scholars who selected my poetry portfolio in a completely blind reading of over one-hundred poets who submitted. This has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life!
Hosted by University of Houston-Downtown, the site was lovely and the acoustics were amazing! Seen below with stellar guest poet, Octavio Quintanilla. He is the author of If I Go Missing, available on Amazon. This is a collection of poetry that brings a deeply personal perspective to issues of immigration, exploring its long term effects on children and families. His is an urgent and heart-felt voice that everyone needs to be listening to! Octavio Quintanilla can be followed on Twitter @OctQuintanilla and Instagram @writeroctavioquintanilla
Thank you to the editors at Weasel Press for including me in the premiere issue of their on-line journal of poetry and visual art, Ordinary Madness. My poem, "Lambs and Goats," has found a wonderful home in this beautifully curated anthology.

POETRY AT ROUND TOP has been accurately described as "the best kept secret on the American poetry scene. " What an an honor and a privilege it has been to spend the last three days in retreat with such luminous poets. Thank you to the Round Top Festival Institute for publishing my poem, "Paris." I am deeply touched to see my work in concert with such exceptional poets. And special thanks to Natalie Diaz, Cornelius Eady, and Octavio Quintanilla, whose poems and insights are candles on a dark night. - GL
Thank you to poetry maestro, Mike Alexander (www.abusedmuse.com), and FIX Coffeehouse for hosting a wonderfully successful reading this past Tuesday. Being featured along with the immensely talented John Milkereit was both an honor and a delight. We enjoyed reading to a full house on a cool January evening. Poetry coupled with the very best coffee in Houston = HAPPINESS!!!!!!!
Thank you to Nuestra Palabra and KPFT Radio for having me on their show yesterday evening. I was honored to be with fellow citizen and poet, Robin Davidson, and visiting with Tony Diaz and Lupe Mendez. LOVE THESE GUYS! Viva los #librotraficantes! Also thrilled to meet dynamo social media activist, Antonio Arellano. Yes indeed, we are #heretostay #writersresist #unidos we #writedemocracy. So proud to be a part of this bright and vibrant community!
As Billie Duncan of Balcony Poets has pointed out, today's list reads like a "Whose Who of Houston Poetry." I am humbled and honored to have been invited to read my poem "Parallels of Grief: Two Party Politics." Even better, we are speaking in tandem with poets nationwide, poets like the great and amazing Robert Pinsky (one of our U.S. Poet Laureates) who has written a poem especially for this national event. Thank you to Tintero Projects and Houston Holocaust Museum for supporting this effort in Houston.
We will not be silenced, not on this night, not EVER.
WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.
