THE OCOTILLO REVIEW - BOOK LAUNCH

7/26/2018

Picture
Thank you to Tony Burnett at Kallisto Gaia Press and his editorial staff for The Ocotillo Review. The editors  selected my poem, "Lace Pentagrams" -- a poem which has become my own contribution to the "Southern Gothic" literary tradition --  to include in this impressive regional anthology. I am very proud to be reading with other esteemed Southern writers (of fiction and poetry) at tomorrow evening's Houston book launch, hosted by Visionary Heights Art Gallery, 1331 Nicholson St, Houston, TX, 77008 at 6:30pm. I will also be especially honored to have visiting actress and director, Rachel Jones, of Axial Theatre, and playwright, Stephen Baluzy ("The Great Thing About Me") attending, as well as Southern writer and memoirist, Nancy Geyer (instructor of that incredibly popular memoir writing course at Rice University).

PLUS, I am deeply grateful for Fran Sanders at Public Poetry for championing this event. We were thrilled beyond measure to read our poetry to a full house yesterday! Thank you to everyone who came out, supported our cause, and bought books! Red Sky: Poetry on the Global Epidemic of Violence Against Women is now available at Brazos Bookstore in Houston.

PUBLISHED IN BERLIN

Berlin based literary journal, The Wild World, has published my poems, "Narcissus" and "Gardenias," in What the Heart Sees (The Wild Word, Issue # 25). Thank you to the poetry editors for selecting two of my "white flower poems," and special thanks to lead editor, Kusi Okamura, for her stewardship over this beautiful journal.  As an added note, I am especially grateful to have had these two poems published in Berlin, the city which my father called home. https://thewildword.com/poetry-gabrielle-langley/
